What You’ll Do:
- Provide comprehensive paralegal support throughout the lifecycle of workers' compensation cases, ensuring all deadlines and procedures are met.
- Draft and prepare legal documents specific to workers' compensation cases, including applications, petitions, responses, and settlement agreements.
- Organize, review, and summarize medical records relevant to workers' compensation claims.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and answering inquiries with empathy and professionalism.
- Understand and apply Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission rules and procedures for filings and hearings.
- Conduct factual and legal research relevant to workers' compensation claims in Illinois.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and trials, including organizing exhibits and witness files.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and records in our case management system.
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor's Degree
- Paralegal certification is a plus.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Prior experience as a paralegal, preferably in workers' compensation or personal injury, is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Illinois Workers' Compensation laws and procedures.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
