Barstool Sports is seeking a The Yak Intern to join our team for the summer. The Yak is one of Barstool’s most iconic live shows, known for its off-the-cuff humor, unpredictable energy, wild antics, and deeply loyal fanbase. This role is ideal for someone who understands the chaos, thrives in it, and can help amplify the funniest moments in real time.

This internship runs from May 26 to August 28 and is based 100% in our Chicago office.


What You'll Do

  • Assist in the daily production of The Yak, including studio prep, props, tech setup, and live broadcast support.
  • Identify, clip, and edit hilarious moments in real time for rapid distribution across TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter/X.
  • Collaborate with producers to create creative, shareable content that reflects The Yak’s unique tone and personality.
  • Help develop and evolve the show’s voice on social media through creative posts, original graphics, and platform-specific content.
  • Help generate content ideas, bits, and interactive fan moments that fit the show’s humor.
  • Manage live social interactions and help spark viral moments from the broadcast.
  • Track engagement metrics and identify opportunities to grow the show’s digital footprint.
  • Work Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, in-office, with flexibility depending on show needs and special events. 

What You Have

  • A current undergraduate with a genuine passion for The Yak and a strong understanding of its humor, cast dynamics, and audience.
  • Sharp comedic instincts and an eye for identifying viral moments.
  • Experience with social media engagement and platform-native content creation.
  • An understanding of how to build and maintain a distinct voice on social media through tone, timing, and creative execution.
  • Basic knowledge of video editing (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar).
  • Basic graphic design skills (Photoshop or similar) for social and on-air graphics.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-energy, unpredictable environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and the confidence to contribute ideas in a fast-moving room.

Pay Rate: $16.60/hr
