We are looking for a Principal Communications Associate who is obsessed with inspiring change through innovative experiences and storytelling. Capital One is looking for an energetic, creative and strategic communication professional to join our Card Technology Chief of Staff team. The Principal Communications Associate will drive executive level internal communications for the CTO and Premium Products and Experiences organization, which is rapidly growing.
What You'll Do:
- Drive the executive communications strategy that will bring the CTO and Premium Products and Experiences narrative to life through creative storytelling and engaging experiences including executive-led meetings (virtual or in person), digital/video storytelling, executive level communications and special projects
- Manage key partnerships, including interacting and communicating with stakeholders across all levels to inform and influence outcomes
- Plan and prepare effective, thoughtful and engaging internal communications that educate, inform, connect with and inspire leaders and employees, including development of talking points and reviewing/preparing presentations
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking and excellent problem solving skills with the ability to pivot in real time and provide clear recommendations in an ever-changing environment
- Provide counsel and lead thoughtful change management communications in support of the business
- Ensure communications are viewed through the lens of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, including consulting leaders and engaging enterprise experts, tools and resources as needed
- Evaluate performance for communications based on key metrics and recommend refinements to communications strategies, messaging, and channels/forums
- Partner with and influence internal partners as needed in the best interests of the business and associates
Team Information:
On the Chief of Staff team, you will be working with key executives and the extended leadership team to understand areas of need to build a sustainable communication strategy designed to share the vision of the organization as well as engage, empower and inspire associates.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 3 years of experience in one or more of the following: corporate communications, multi-channel marketing, internal business communications or leading organizational change
- At least 3 years of experience in communication projects
- At least 3 years of experience in planning, execution, and analysis of marketing programs
- At least 3 years of experience in managing output from teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing/public relations, English or journalism
- 3+ years of experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- 1+ years of experience with executive-level clients
- Experience working effectively with multiple constituents, including peers, executive management, senior management
- 1+ years of experience working with a technology-oriented company
