Chicago Tech Quote of the Week

“As TiNDLE has experienced incredible, sustained growth in the past 15 months – much of it in the U.S. – now is the perfect time to solidify our presence here as we finalize our home base in Chicago. As a new resident myself, I’m constantly inspired by this city and the potential it holds for the future of the plant-based food industry, but also food innovation in general.” — Andre Menezes, CEO and co-founder of Next Gen Foods

Next Gen Foods opened its Chicago HQ. Next Gen Foods is the parent company of TiNDLE, a company that makes plant-based chicken foods. The company is based in Singapore but decided to open a U.S. headquarters after its products picked up steam in Windy City restaurants. Along with the new HQ, Next Gen Foods is also launching an R&D program that will be a part of The Hatchery incubator. [Built In Chicago]

Halo raised $2.6M in seed funding. Halo’s platform brings together companies and scientists to collaborate on new innovations.
