Tech news on the lakefront was fairly chill last week, but local innovators still made time to announce fundings, rebrands and product launches. This is the Built In Chicago Weekly Refresh.

Mycocycle raised $2.2M. Located in Bolingbrook, Mycocycle developed a solution that employs mushrooms to remove toxins from waste and covert it into useful materials for the construction sector. The company announced a round of seed funding led by Anthropocene Ventures that will go toward product development and hiring new talent. [Chicago Inno]
