Britebound is dedicated to ensuring that employees are just as devoted to life outside of work as they are to its mission. The Summer Fridays program, which gives employees every Friday between Memorial Day and Labor Day off, allows staff to recharge and spend time with loved ones. Additionally, all staff members receive eight hours of paid time off each year to volunteer and give back to the community, further reinforcing Britebound’s commitment to community service.
Leadership also contributes to the organization’s culture around transparency and openness. Britebound’s CEO, Julie Lammers, produces a weekly video updating staff on events, grants, relevant policy and advocacy, and happenings at the organization.
Employees constantly collaborate across teams to create marketing campaigns around research or partnerships, promote Britebound’s digital platforms, work on DEI strategies, and produce webinars, panels, and workshops. These projects bring staff together around a shared mission and create a more dynamic company culture.
In addition to day-to-day work and bigger projects, Britebound also gives staff the opportunity to have their say in the organizations they fund. Through its grantmaking committee, employees can volunteer to read over grant proposals and give their opinions on whether or not the proposal aligns with Britebound’s mission of expanding youth career-connected learning opportunities to improve postsecondary outcomes.
