Lead Backblaze’s developer relations strategy and establish B2 as the preferred storage layer for AI and agent-led projects. Coordinate engineering, documentation, content, solutions engineering, and startup-program resources; build credibility across developer communities, open source projects, events, and AI tooling ecosystems. Create feedback loops with product and engineering, define adoption and conversion metrics, produce technical content, and grow developer mindshare, engagement, signups, and usage.

Own the reliability, scalability, and administration of production Vitess/MySQL and Cassandra databases. Design highly available architectures, replication, backup, recovery, security, and disaster recovery strategies. Lead incident response, on-call operations, monitoring, SLO development, root cause analysis, and production readiness reviews. Automate database and infrastructure operations using scripting, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins. Establish runbooks, escalation procedures, training materials, and mentor junior database SREs while partnering across engineering and infrastructure teams.

Lead B2 cloud object storage product strategy, roadmap, discovery, and delivery. Translate customer and market needs into product requirements, collaborate with Design, Engineering, and go-to-market teams, launch features, track product metrics, and evangelize solutions. The role requires deep cloud architecture, API, security, compliance, and product lifecycle expertise, along with strong cross-functional leadership and customer research capabilities.
