Breakwater Chicago LLC

Breakwater Chicago is a floating entertainment destination that will be anchored off-shore on Lake Michigan, providing boaters will their first major boating destination in the Chicago Harbor, and non-boaters with access to the boating community via water-taxis.  This 50,000 square foot floating venue will offer a portfolio of entertainment options, including: multiple restaurants, health & wellness spa, nightclub, event space, private club, shoppes, and even swimming pools!  During winter months the vessel will be anchored to shore and encapsulated with a clear air-structure dome, providing a local escape during harsh Chicago winters.  This cover allows UV light to pass through, which means that you can work on your suntan on a sunny but cold day in January.  Breakwater Chicago LLC announced this project after two years of diligence and conceptual design, with the target of opening in mid-summer 2015.  The public announcement was made alongside a Kickstarter campaign, being used to show public support for the project, and media coverage has been tremendous.  Here are just a few examples from print, television, and radio.  Breakwater Chicago was the most-viewed story in Crain's Chicago Business andRedEye during the week of June 10th and the media continues to provide a steady stream of updates as the project develops, while the Kickstarter campaign reached its 30-day goal in 36-hours.  For more information, please visit www.BreakwaterChicago.com.
