Leads City Year Chicago’s external affairs, communications, marketing, media relations, government and community affairs, strategic partnerships, and signature events. Builds relationships with civic, business, philanthropic, government, media, and community stakeholders; serves as spokesperson and ambassador; manages brand strategy and external messaging; advises leadership on policy and engagement; and leads high-profile events to advance visibility, influence, fundraising, and organizational priorities.

Leads City Year Chicago’s individual giving program, targeting approximately $900,000 in annual revenue. Builds donor pipelines, cultivates and solicits leadership-level and multi-year gifts, oversees Red Jacket Society fundraising, manages alumni and volunteer relationships, and partners with organizational leadership and development operations. The role also coordinates donor events, tracks activity in Salesforce, forecasts revenue, and represents the organization at community functions. It is primarily in person with local travel required.

Manage City Year Chicago’s corporate and foundation donor portfolio, cultivating relationships, securing grants and sponsorships, renewing corporate partnerships, and coordinating stewardship, impact reporting, and engagement opportunities. Use Salesforce to track donor activity and projections, collaborate with development and site teams, support fundraising events, and help achieve annual revenue goals. The role requires frequent stakeholder communication, project management, local travel, and mostly in-person work.
