Hatchix

Hatchix is a free social network that connects users looking for scholarships to organizations and past scholarship recipients for scholarships and career development opportunities.  Our platform is designed to facilitate the exchange of information on scholarships and career development opportunities and convey the experience through visual social media. 

The site posts scholarship and career development opportunities that users can then browse on our site and learn more about them by connecting directly to scholarship organizations, scholarship recipients, and alumni.  Our site affords users the chance to ask their questions and seek clarification on such opportunities.  When users go through the listing of scholarship opportunities, they can then decide to join the group page of the scholarship organization where they can find links, videos, pictures, previously asked questions to the sponsors, blogs posts from past scholarship recipients, a full listing of scholarships by the organization, and more.

We hope to achieve our goal of connecting students to scholarship sponsors as well as pontential employers who are willing to invest in their education and career development.  At Hatchix employers can develop relationships with students before they graduate from university, providing them with scholarships, internships, and career advice, so that students can start their careers right after they finish college.  We aim to help organizations  identify talented students and connect them to organizational mentors who can potentially groom them for a career in a particular field.

On Hatchix students and young professionals can showcase their experience, interests, and background through various types of media.  In turn, the site also serves as a platform for organizations to publicize their opportunities and promote them in a venue where their target audience can already be found. 

Our Vision: Debt-free Education, Chance to Jump-Start Career

We believe in a future where students can receive a debt-free education and have the opportunity to gain  professional experience upon graduation to jump-start their careers.

Students are accumulating debt from outstanding loans, and although scholarships can help to pay for the high tuition costs of education, students will eventually have to find jobs after graduating from school.  Compound this with an uncertain job market in a world economy filled with sudden ups and downs -- students may continue to confront a world of high debt and limited employment opportunities.  For this reason, Hatchix seeks to provide the platform for the short-term need of paying for school and the long-term goal of starting a career in life. 

At Hatchix students and young professionals can truly help each other out and provide a rapid response to their questions, comments, and concerns.  Rather than simply posting a question on a thread or a board, students can interact with academics, professionals, sponsors, and former scholarship recipients to get the information they need to succeed.

We seek to turn Hatchix into a website where students can broker deals with sponsors to NOT only get money for school, but also get a job, at the very least an internship. We strongly believe that instead of waiting to graduate from school to explore their possibilities in life, students can take control of their own future now and set themselves up for life.
