Job Description

Summary

The Account Executive II is responsible for the success of the overall client business relationship of a high-touch book of business that includes complex, strategic, and other key revenue generating clients.  As a leader, the Account Executive provides proactive and strategic support for achieving financial goals resulting from successful leadership of client deliverables, renewals, and upsell activities.  By managing all aspects of the client business relationships with minimal direct oversight and exhibiting a track record of achieving exceptional results, this position ensures ongoing client satisfaction and effectively leads the client team to achieve service, revenue, and product goals as identified in client strategic plans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

·Develop and lead client specific strategic, financial and business relationship plans that encompass client goals, performance expectations, new products/programs, and growth in claims volume/profitability.

·Consistently ensure that deliverables are on time, within budget, and meet the quality levels expected by MedImpact internal and external customers.

·Optimize potential for sustainable growth and profitability for assigned book of business.  Achieve financial targets for assigned book of business.

·Develop and maintain solid business relationships with clients at the executive level and with critical decision-makers within the client organization.

  • Utilize financial and pricing models to analyze and present business scenarios to clients that illustrate different options to grow the business.
  • Influence client decisions through analytic reports, industry trends, and other facts that demonstrate MedImpact as an expert in our market.
  • Organize and lead client business planning meetings, financial performance reviews, leadership summits, as well as internal strategy planning meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal leaders and staff throughout the organization to solve problems, plan successful outcomes, and implement new clients and programs. 
  • Demonstrate ability to manage challenging situations in a positive and constructive manner that comports with MedImpact’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Provide oversight of projects and client initiatives and assist in the interpretation and context of client requests.
  • Provide regular feedback of strategic plan performance and outcomes to MedImpact leadership to ensure that service and growth opportunities are maximized and incorporated into the organizational strategic planning process. 
  • Participate in and support the implementation process for new clients and new client programs, including collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Implementation, Contracting and other areas of the company.
  • Participate in internal sales, product development, and strategic executive meetings, taking an active role to represent the voice of the customer and informing the strategic direction of the enterprise.

Client Responsibilities

This is an internal and external client facing position that requires excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening/verbal/written).  One must be able to; manage difficult or emotional client situations; Respond promptly to client needs; Solicit client feedback to improve service; Respond to requests for service and assistance from clients; Meet commitments to clients.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

BS/BA and 9+ years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, and 6 years' of SME in respective areas.

Computer Skills

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS/ Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook to create complex documents, manage schedules, and analyze data.

Experienced business user of multiple software applications/processing systems.

Demonstrated proficiency of key internal business applications associated with the position within six (6) months of active employment in the role, such as MedOptimize.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Must reside in Puerto Rico and be able to travel to San Juan office 2-3 days a week.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment.
  • Previous management experience or experience directing a high performing organization with a track record of contributing to and responsibility for product, program, and company success.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality using, tact, discretion, and professionalism in all aspects of the job. 
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to gather business requirements and client specifications.

Work Location

This position must work on-site at the San Diego Headquarters (or other company location) for purposes of providing adequate support to internal clients; being available for face-to-face interactions and coordination of work with other employees, colleagues, clients, or vendors; as well as for facilitation of quick and effective decisions through collaboration with stakeholders.  Periodic scheduled remote work may be permitted as allowed under the department’s policy and with management approval. 

Working Hours

This is an exempt level position requiring the incumbent to work the hours required to fully accomplish job responsibilities and reasonably meet deadlines for work deliverables. The individual must have the flexibility to work beyond traditional hours and be able to work nights, weekends or on holidays as required.  Work hours may be changed from time to time to meet the needs of the business.  Typical core business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

This position requires domestic travel of up to 25% of the time.
