The Opportunity
The Account Executive is responsible for driving sales growth, retention, and strategic broker management across an assigned territory while helping employers deliver innovative insurance and benefits solutions to their workforce. Guided by our purpose, always with you building a more confident future , and our New Frontier strategy focused on stronger growth, attractive returns, and all-weather performance, this is an exciting opportunity to build trusted relationships with brokers and clients, expand access to quality insurance products, and directly contribute to the growth of MetLife's Group Benefits business. The role offers the opportunity to influence strategic decisions, identify new growth opportunities, and serve as a trusted partner in an evolving benefits marketplace.
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive sales growth, retention, renewals, and cross-selling opportunities across an assigned territory and book of business.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, consultants, and clients through strategic account planning, stewardship meetings, and ongoing consultation.
  • Lead broker management activities, including quote generation, implementation support, post-sale support, and delivery of profitable client solutions.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource on Group Benefits products, industry trends, and marketplace developments while influencing strategic decisions for clients and internal partners.
  • Utilize AI-enabled tools, data analytics, and digital solutions to enhance prospecting, account planning, client engagement, and sales effectiveness.

Required Qualifications
  • Must obtain the required Life and Accident & Health state licenses within the first 3 months of employment, and the Property & Casualty license within the first 6 months of employment.
  • Three or more years of insurance, employee benefits, or consultative sales experience.
  • Strong sales and relationship management with the ability to influence, negotiate, present, and build broker and client partnerships.
  • Strategic problem-solving, financial acumen, and analytical skills with the ability to identify profitable growth opportunities and deliver business results.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 40% to support in-person broker and client engagement.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree.
  • Experience managing a book of business, driving renewals, and executing strategic account plans.
  • Knowledge of the Group Benefits market, including life, disability, dental, vision, and voluntary benefit products.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, matrixed environment while managing multiple priorities and adapting to change.

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is $50,000 . This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
