Primary Purpose of Role

Based in North America and reporting directly to Head of OEM Mobile Sales North America Off-Highway, this position will be responsible for leading the Account Management & Business Development for assigned accounts within the North America region in the pursuit of continued growth, profitability, and meeting its commitments to customers, the company and to the employees.

The Off-Highway Account Manager serves as the voice of the customer, responsible for supporting and growing profitable customer relationships, communicating Allison’s value proposition, and coordinating internal resources to meet customer needs. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction, support business growth, and execute account strategies.

Operating within a matrixed global organization, this leader partners closely with Segment teams, Platform teams, Product Management, Engineering, and Operations to expand profitable market share, drive system and platform adoption, and strengthen long‑term OEM partnerships across core Off‑Highway segments.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Support execution of customer and product growth plans within assigned accounts 
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective customers 
  • Account Management: Manage day-to-day account activities, including coordination between customer and internal teams (engineering, operations, finance, etc.) 
  • Value Management: Support analysis of product value and competitive positioning; assist in maintaining profitability 
  • Forecasting and Planning: Provide regular forecasts and updates for new and existing business opportunities 
  • Customer & Program Execution: Coordinate with internal teams to support product launches, ongoing programs, and issue resolution 
  • Support achievement of sales and market objectives for assigned accounts 
  • Monitor customer performance and activity metrics 
  • Assist with accounts receivable follow-up and resolution 
  • Participate in customer meetings and presentations across purchasing, engineering, and operations 
  • Support pricing discussions and negotiations 
  • Maintain awareness of market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity 
  • Prepare reports including forecasts, pipeline updates, and customer visit summaries 
  • Support new product introductions and customer adoption 

Competencies and Behaviors

  • Strong business acumen across manufacturing, finance, marketing, sourcing, and engineering
  • Understanding of OEM business models, product development cycles, and sourcing processes
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and customer relationships 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrix organization 
  • Problem-solving and customer-focused mindset
  • Strong fact finding, analytical, and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to operate effectively across time zones and non-traditional business hours
  • Excellent capabilities in presentation development and Microsoft excel skills

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or related field required 
  • 5 - 7+ years of progressive sales and business development experience 
  • 3+ years leading strategic OEM accounts (preference in Off-Highway Market) 

Preferred 

  • Background selling drivetrain, powertrain, motion control, or integrated systems 
  • Experience working in highly matrixed, global organizations 

Travel

  • Up to 50% travel may be required Experience in Off‑Highway, heavy equipment, or complex industrial markets
