Runpod is the AI Developer Cloud. More than one million developers, from indie researchers to teams running frontier models in production, use Runpod to experiment, train, fine-tune, deploy, and scale AI on one platform. The platform has processed more than 20 billion inference requests. We closed a $100M Series A in June 2026. We're at an inflection point for AI infrastructure, and we're building the platform the next generation of developers will depend on. Learn more in our CEO's funding announcement: https://www.runpod.io/blog/one-million-developers.

We're a small, remote-first team. We take ownership seriously, move fast, and ship work that more than a million developers rely on every day. We're looking for people who care deeply, build with urgency, and want to matter at scale.

As an Account Manager (Strategic) at Runpod, you'll work with the organizations doing the most ambitious work on our platform. These are teams building real AI systems - testing early ideas, training and tuning their own models, and running inference at production scale - across a wide range of industries and use cases. Their problems are technical, their timelines are fast, and what they build on Runpod matters to their business.

These are multi-million-dollar, high-touch, executive-level relationships. You'll engage your accounts at least monthly, operate as a true strategic partner to their leadership, and be measured on how much you grow and deepen those relationships over multiple years.

Your mandate isn't just to keep these accounts healthy - it's to make them bigger. You'll be proactive by default: anticipating needs, bringing Runpod's roadmap and new capabilities to the customer, and co-creating solutions that expand how they build on us. Each of your accounts is paired with a dedicated Forward Deployed Engineer, and you'll quarterback that partnership to turn technical wins into commercial expansion.

Responsibilities:

  • Own a concentrated portfolio of Runpod's largest strategic accounts (typically fewer than 20), carrying the relationship, retention, and expansion for each.

  • Operate a high-touch engagement model - monthly (or more frequent) executive and technical touchpoints, deep account planning, and multi-year growth strategies.

  • Partner day-to-day with each account's dedicated Forward Deployed Engineer to align technical outcomes with commercial expansion.

  • Be proactive and innovation-led: don't just resolve issues - bring new Runpod capabilities, roadmap, and ideas that drive new use cases and increased spend.

  • Drive large, complex renewals and expansions; negotiate high-value, multi-year commercial terms, pricing, and SLAs.

  • Build executive relationships and run strategic business reviews on ROI, roadmap alignment, and future capacity planning.

  • Serve as the voice of your strategic customers internally - influencing product, engineering, and supply priorities on their behalf.

  • Own accurate forecasting, account plans, and health/expansion metrics (NRR, expansion revenue, sentiment) in the CRM, and report to leadership.

  • Travel periodically to visit your strategic accounts and represent Runpod at key industry moments.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years in account management, with at least 2 of those years owning complex accounts - ideally in AI infrastructure, GPU cloud, neoclouds, cloud/compute, or developer tooling.

  • Track record owning and growing a concentrated book of large, complex strategic accounts (multi-million-dollar, ideally $50M+ relationships) with executive stakeholders as opposed to high-volume portfolios.

  • Multi-year, seven-to-eight-figure renewal and expansion negotiation experience.

  • Strong technical acumen and executive presence - equally credible with developers/ML engineers and C-suite buyers.

  • Proactive, consultative operator who drives expansion and innovation, not just issue resolution.

  • Comfortable partnering closely with technical field teams to turn technical wins into commercial expansion.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills across technical and business audiences.

  • Strong command of account health and revenue metrics (NRR, expansion, churn, usage), with CRM discipline and accurate forecasting (We use Hubspot as our CRM).

  • Comfortable in a fast-moving, ambiguous, build-it-as-we-go environment; experience building AM motions or playbooks from an early/greenfield stage is a plus.

  • Successful completion of a background check.

What You’ll Receive:

  • The competitive OTE for this position ranges from $160,000 and $280,000 OTE. This is a mix of base plus commission. This range may be inclusive of several career levels at Runpod and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.

  • Because this role is measured on growing your accounts, your commission is uncapped - expansion within your book creates real potential to earn above your target OTE.

  • Meaningful equity in a fast-growing AI infra company- everyone on the team receives stock options — your impact drives our growth, and you share in the upside.

  • Generous medical, dental & vision plans.

  • Flexible PTO- take the time you need to recharge.

  • Most roles have are remote work first with an inclusive, collaborative teams utilizing slack as the main form of internal communication.

  • Join a passionate team on the cutting edge of AI infrastructure — where culture, learning, and ownership are at the heart of how we scale.

  • $1,200 Home Office & Equipment Stipend- We set you up for success from day one with gear and support to create your ideal workspace.
