Position Summary

The Account Program Engineer serves as the primary technical leader for a strategic customer account, maintaining ownership of the customer's specifications, qualification requirements, and solution consistency across a portfolio of projects throughout the customer’s network. This position provides technical leadership and direction across multidisciplinary engineering teams while remaining an active hands-on contributor. In partnership with the Account Executive and Account Program Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring system performance, technical alignment, specification compliance, and application of best practices across all customer projects. By driving standardized and repeatable solutions, this role improves quality, increases efficiency, reduces risk, and delivers a consistent customer experience while strengthening a long-term strategic partnership.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Systems Engineering responsibilities on large and complex projects as business demands require.
  • Support the Applications team, as required, with hardware and system configurations for unique, high risk, or critical solutions.
  • Support the Sales team with engineering resource planning and capacity forecasting.
  • Recommend staffing strategies based on customer pipeline forecasts, project complexity, and technical requirements.
  • Own the management and interpretation of customer technical specifications.
  • Maintain controlled specification repositories and revision tracking systems.
  • Internalize customer specification requirements and communicate changes to project teams.
  • Lead technical discussions, specification reviews, design approvals, and exception management with customers.
  • Drive development and adoption of repeatable engineering design solutions and standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering quality, reduce project risk, and increase first-pass yield.
  • Support vendor selection, evaluation, and qualification activities for strategic customer programs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for technical escalations, gaps, and issue resolution.
  • Support and manage customer escalations in coordination with the Account Program Manager and Account Executive.
  • Audit engineering deliverables for specification compliance, standards adherence, and integration risks.
  • Audit engineering processes and workflows to identify productivity improvements and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Product Development to obtain customer qualification for new products and technologies.
  • Evaluate opportunities for preassembly and modularization strategies that improve installation efficiency and project execution.
  • Domestic travel up to 35% in North America, mostly within the Continental United States.
Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related engineering experience, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in material handling automation, intralogistics, warehouse automation, or related industries.
  • Experience with Autodesk Products (i.e. AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks) preferred and/or SolidWorks proficiency
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project
