Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Manager oversees the accounts payable team. The ideal candidate will ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, maintain vendor relationships, and support financial operations to uphold the company’s financial integrity.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and mentor the accounts payable team, providing training and guidance to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency in the accounts payable process.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of invoices, expense reports, and payment requests.
  • Ensure all invoices are matched with purchase orders and receipt confirmations.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors, addressing inquiries and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts payable ledgers and ensure accurate reporting of accounts payable activities.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on accounts payable metrics to management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements related to accounts payable.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to mitigate risks of fraud and errors.
  • Work closely with other departments (e.g., Procurement, Finance) to ensure seamless processes and communication.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits related to accounts payable.

Skills, Education, and Competencies

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related major is required.
  • At least 3-5 years of accounts payable or related experience is required.
  • Works carefully and is diligent and detail-oriented.
  • Motivates a team and has strong leadership skills.
  • Collaborates with colleagues and has great interpersonal skills.

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

 

The physical demands and work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the job's essential functions. Work is performed in a normal office environment.

  • The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, hear, see and talk.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting may be required.
  • All employees may be required to visit a customer site and/or complete a ride along with a field technician as part of their employment.
