We are seeking a talented individual to join our Wealth team at Mercer. This role will be based in Taiwan.
The new intern candidate will have the exciting opportunity of helping to grow the Asia Pacific Actuarial Practice from the ground-up and will report to the team leader in Taiwan. The intern candidate provide end-to-end consulting and advice on defined benefit (DB) and/or defined contribution (DC) retirement plans, helping clients to support their employees’ financial wellness. The actuarial intern will be expected to contribute to a broad range of projects and will play a key role in the sourcing and delivery of projects for Mercer’s clients, which include public and private pension schemes, government entities and insurance companies.
We will count on you to:
- Assist in actuarial/quantitative analysis projects.
- Assess costs, rates, risks, and trends in insurance and healthcare.
- Process, validate, and update data in actuarial and financial models.
- Collaborate with analysts and consultants to resolve queries.
- Contribute to special projects as needed.
- Gather, organize, and verify data accurately.
- Assist in preparing reports and making recommendations to clients.
- Research industry, regulatory, and legislative trends.
- Collaborate with teams across the Mercer Wealth business.
What you need to have:
- A graduate degree, preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a subject with significant mathematical content.
- Knowledge of the Pensions domain is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpretational skills.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work independently.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of VBA or other programming languages is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal presentation skills in English and Mandarin.
