Position Overview

The Advanced Network Engineer is responsible for managing and troubleshooting Wintrust’s network, running reports on network health and usage, providing input and completing tasks on major technology projects and providing technical support to internal staff and teams. He or she will assist network architects and senior engineers with implementation of network technologies. The role requires strict adherence to Wintrust’s Network standards, policies, processes and procedures and may require some travel to remote locations in the Chicago and outlying area footprint of operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the corporate network (WAN/LAN/wireless) environments

  • Develop and maintain network documentation and managing network policies

  • Racking and stacking of data center/IDF/MDF equipment as well as network cabling/patching

  • Familiar with network monitoring tools, preferably SolarWinds

  • Cisco device configuration and good understanding of Cisco switching technology and protocols

  • Provide troubleshooting and end user support both in person and over the phone

  • Monitor network system health and perform system audits as well as other data gathering in support of Network Infrastructure support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • 5-7 years of related network engineering experience

  • Experience with the following: SD-WAN, Cisco ISE, Cisco ADI, network load balancers, NDS, DHCP, IP management (DDI) – preferably Infoblox, Cisco & Meraki Enterprise Wireless, and change management

  • CCNA required; CCNP preferred

  • Ability to understand scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, or Python

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $85,000.00 - $110,000.00, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience.
