THE ROLE

We're looking for an AI Execution & Prototyping Analyst who builds things, not just dashboards. This role is fundamentally different from a traditional BI analyst position — instead of assembling reports in Tableau or Power BI, you'll use Anthropic's Claude ecosystem (Claude Code, Artifacts, and MCP-connected tools) to go from a stakeholder's question to a working, interactive web application in hours or days, not weeks.
You'll act as a bridge between raw data and decision-makers, but your medium is custom-built, AI-assisted software — lightweight prototypes that can evolve into production-grade internal tools when they prove their value. This is a hands-on, builder-oriented role for someone who thinks like a product engineer and a data storyteller at the same time.

Department: Insights. Reports to: Manager, Data & Analytics. Employment Type: Full-time.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Rapidly prototype interactive data visualizations and internal web apps using Claude Code as your primary development environment, iterating in tight feedback loops with stakeholders.
  • Translate ambiguous business questions into working visual tools — dashboards, calculators, exploratory data apps, simulations — without waiting on a formal BI development cycle.
  • Take validated prototypes from proof-of-concept to production-quality web applications (proper data pipelines, authentication, hosting, and performance).
  • Connect visualizations directly to live data sources (databases, APIs, internal tools) using MCP (Model Context Protocol) integrations rather than static data exports.
  • Own the full lifecycle of a visualization product: scoping, building, deploying, gathering feedback, and iterating.
  • Write clean, maintainable front-end code (JavaScript/TypeScript, React) generated and refined in collaboration with Claude Code, rather than relying on drag-and-drop BI tooling.
  • Establish reusable patterns, components, and internal libraries so future prototypes can be built even faster.
  • Partner with data engineering to ensure the underlying data feeding your apps is accurate, governed, and reliable.
  • Evangelize and train other analysts on AI-assisted, code-first visualization workflows as an alternative to legacy BI tools.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • Experience building data visualizations or internal tools, with a strong bias toward writing real code (not exclusively point-and-click BI platforms).
  • Hands-on experience with, or strong aptitude for, agentic coding tools like Claude Code — comfortable directing an AI coding agent, reviewing its output critically, and iterating quickly.
  • Experience with Python for data wrangling and analysis (Pandas, etc.) is a plus.
  • Prior experience migrating a team off legacy BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) toward custom-built tooling is a plus.

Core Skills

  • Claude Code (agentic coding) — used regularly to prototype, build, and deploy interactive web apps and visualizations
  • Solid JavaScript/TypeScript and front-end fundamentals (React or similar); comfortable with charting/visualization libraries (D3, Recharts, Plotly, Chart.js)
  • Working SQL skills and comfort pulling and shaping data from APIs or databases
  • Understanding of version control (Git) and basic deployment workflows (e.g., Vercel, Netlify, internal hosting)
  • Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or connecting AI tools to external systems/APIs
  • UX/UI sensibility — an eye for clear, honest data storytelling and clean interface design
  • Experience with Claude's broader product suite (Artifacts, Claude API, Claude in Chrome) or similar AI-assisted development environments

WHAT WE VALUE

  • A prototyping mindset: comfortable shipping a rough version fast, then hardening it based on real usage
  • Strong communication skills — able to work directly with non-technical stakeholders to scope what they actually need
  • Ability to work independently while thinking like a product engineer and a data storyteller at the same time
  • Curiosity about replacing legacy dashboards and spreadsheets with purpose-built, AI-assisted tools

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Time from “stakeholder request” to “working prototype in their hands” is measured in hours or days, not sprint cycles
  • A growing internal library of purpose-built visualization apps that replace one-off spreadsheets and legacy dashboards
  • Stakeholders trust the tools enough to make real decisions from them, and come back asking for the next one

COMPENSATION

Competitive salary between $75,000-$85,000, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
