Engineering Transformation is seeking an AI Portfolio Solution Architect to provide technical leadership for the Engineering Generative AI portfolio. This role will shape, build, and continuously improve secure, scalable AI solutions that advance Engineering ways of working.
What You Will Be Doing:
In this role, you will serve as the technical authority across a rapidly evolving portfolio of Generative AI and agentic capabilities. You will define architecture, guide full-stack delivery, establish reusable engineering patterns, and ensure solutions are measurable, trustworthy, compliant with Responsible AI Governance and Ethics (RAGE) policies, and ready to scale across Engineering.
Key Responsibilities will include the following:
- Define and evolve the technical architecture, roadmaps, and reference patterns for the Engineering Generative AI portfolio, including agentic workflows, retrieval, orchestration, integrations, and user experiences.
- Lead hands-on full-stack solution design and development from prototype through production, spanning front-end applications, APIs, services, data connections, AI models, and deployment pipelines.
- Establish composable, interoperable solution patterns with clear interfaces, versioned baselines, traceability, and reusable components across the portfolio.
- Define the framework for transitioning rapid, AI-assisted and "vibe-coded" prototypes into mature, enterprise-deployable solutions, including approved development environments, architecture patterns, code quality, security, testing, documentation, ownership, and release criteria.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies, models, frameworks, and vendor capabilities; conduct technical trade studies, prototypes, and recommendations based on mission value, security, cost, performance, maintainability, and RAGE policy compliance.
- Design human-centered, human-gated AI workflows that provide transparent outputs, source-grounded evidence, appropriate controls, and auditable decision support.
- Embed RAGE requirements into solution architecture, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management; identify and address responsible-AI risks before release.
- Partner with Engineering users, Data and AI Enablement, IT Applications, cybersecurity, and platform teams to translate priorities into deployable, supportable solutions.
- Mentor technical contributors and provide technical direction to internal and partner delivery teams.
