The Airfreight Pricing Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating air freight pricing requests, vendor negotiations, and quotation processes to support the company’s logistics and transportation operations. This role works closely with carriers, airlines, internal sales teams, and operations to ensure competitive pricing, service efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage and coordinate Air Freight RFQs (Request for Quotations) for domestic and international shipments for assigned commercial sales executives
  • Negotiate rates and service agreements with airlines, carriers, and logistics providers
  • Analyze market trends, capacity, and pricing strategies to maintain competitive solutions
  • Prepare accurate and timely quotations for clients and internal stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, vendors, and strategic partners
  • Support the sales team with pricing strategies and transportation solutions
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and customer requirements
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements
  • Maintain updated records of rates, contracts, and supplier information
  • Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth execution of shipments

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • High school diploma
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Air Freight, Air Freight Pricing, Freight Forwarding
  • Strong knowledge of air cargo pricing, routing, and carrier management
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced corporate environment
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation/logistics systems

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience handling international spot quotes, RFQs and strategic sourcing
  • Knowledge of DG (Dangerous Goods) cargo procedures is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently
  • Customer-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities

COMPENSATION

The expected base pay for this role is between $61,600-$77,000. This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
