Job Summary

The Health Economics Team (HET) is seeking a candidate to fill the Analytics Consultant position. The Analytic Consultant’s primary responsibility is to leverage strong technical skills (SQL, R, Python, and Tableau/PowerBI) and healthcare industry knowledge (payor, provider, pharmacy, public health, epidemiology, etc.) to support and enhance client-facing engagements with HCSC’s largest Commercial customers, specific responsibilities will include:
This role is responsible for the analytic support and consultancy for HCSCs largest Commercial Clients and advisory for internal senior-leader stakeholders related to population health and insurance. This position requires a background in healthcare consulting with an emphasis on an advanced-level understanding of medical claims and related datasets. The candidate will have the responsibility to be a contributor to both external client engagements and internal team projects by holistically understanding the business problem at hand and how to efficiently work towards an end goal. This position requires communicating with and presenting to C-Suite stakeholders with the ultimate goal of elevating their understanding of plan cost and health drivers and collaborating internally to address them. Additionally, in partnership with management, this role will look to scale and help internally market impactful client engagements for broader impact. As a technical subject matter expert, it is expected that experience in designing and maintaining standard data layers, developing coding standards and documentation for organizational use cases, and troubleshooting challenges that arise during analytic development, is evident in prior work experience.

NOTE:  This hybrid role can be located in CHICAGO IL or RICHARDSON TX ~ relocation will not be offered; sponsorship is not available including if you are currently on OPT.

Required Job Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in health care services, statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics or related field OR Master’s degree in related field OR 6 years of experience in health care services, statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics or related field 
  • Understanding, and being highly proficient at querying a wide variety of internal and external data sources to get meaningful insights. 
  • Performance excellence in computer languages, such as SQL, R, Python. 
  • Ability to create a dynamic and visually engaging dashboard leveraging data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI. 
  • High degree of business intelligence and understanding how to take a business case from inception to customer or partner execution.  
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Performance excellence in championing initiatives and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to bring the initiative to life. 

Preferred Job Qualifications: 

  • Masters and 1 years of experience in health care services, statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics including 1 years’ experience in analyzing medical claims data
  • Understanding of and highly proficient at querying a wide variety of healthcare data and related population data (medical/pharmacy claims, behavioral health claims, health care management (HCM) records, electronic medical records (EMR), provider databases (AMA, NPI, DEA, etc.), member/patient demographic data, and publicly available databases (U.S. Census, Bureau of Labor Statistics, NIH, etc.).
  • Experience with Databricks.
  • Experience with project management methodologies. 
  • Experience of Healthcare industry - payor, provider, pharmacy, public health, epidemiology, etc. 
  • Experience with version control/collaborative tools

The compensation offered will vary depending on your job-related skills, education, knowledge, and experience. This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan subject to the terms and the conditions of the plan.

Base Pay Range$61,500.00 - $136,100.00

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
