DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design and implement scalable, secure cloud architectures that support advanced data engineering and analytics workloads. Develop and optimize cloud-native data pipelines, storage solutions, and distributed systems using modern cloud services. Lead engineering teams in building, deploying, and automating cloud and data solutions, enforcing best practices and coding standards. Collaborate with stakeholders, data scientists, and application teams to gather requirements and deliver effective, business-aligned solutions. Ensure all cloud and data platforms comply with security, data governance, and regulatory standards. Drive automation in infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and operations using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex cloud and data issues, and proactively resolve bottlenecks or failures. Evaluate and select appropriate cloud and data technologies, staying current with industry trends to foster innovation. Mentor team members, promote knowledge sharing, and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement. Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and deliverables to ensure successful execution of cloud and data initiatives. This position requires up to 10% domestic travel to other JPMC offices for offsites and internal meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: 3- or 4-year Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 6 years of experience in the job offered or as Architect, Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or as Architect, Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following: Designing, building, and deploying solutions on at least one of the following public cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud; Managing cloud infrastructure including compute, storage, networking, and security using native cloud services; Using at least one of the following Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools: Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager for automating the provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud infrastructure. This position requires any amount of experience with the following: Developing and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes using industry-standard tools and frameworks including Apache Spark, Kafka, Glue, and EMR; Programming in at least one language used in cloud and data engineering: Python or Java; CI/CD concepts and tools including Jenkins for automating deployments; Applying information security principles and best practices to secure cloud environments and data; Designing and implementing distributed systems and scalable architectures for scalable and secure architectures including security and governance; Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in cloud and data engineering environments; Engaging and collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders from various product and technology teams to elicit, clarify, and document both technical and business requirements, ensuring the proposed solutions align with organization goals.
