Assistant Director of Enrollment Marketing

Position Details

Compensation: $65,000–$75,000 yearly, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Position Type/Schedule: Full-time

Work Location: Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, Illinois

Work Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, both presently and for the duration of employment with the university.

Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Enrollment Marketing supports the development, execution, and optimization of data-driven enrollment marketing strategies that advance undergraduate and graduate enrollment goals. This position manages recruitment communications, campaign execution, CRM-based marketing initiatives, analytics reporting, and project management while collaborating closely with Enrollment Management, Marketing and Communications, campus partners, and external vendors.

The Assistant Director plays an important role in developing and executing prospective student communication strategies across multiple channels and uses data and analytics to evaluate campaign effectiveness, improve engagement, and support the university's enrollment objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute integrated enrollment marketing campaigns across email, web, digital advertising, social media, print, and SMS channels.

  • Manage prospective student communication plans and recruitment journeys within CRM platforms such as Slate.

  • Collaborate with Enrollment Management teams to support recruitment events, campus visits, counselor engagement, application campaigns, and other enrollment initiatives.

  • Develop, schedule, and deploy enrollment communications while ensuring consistency with university brand standards and applicable accessibility requirements.

  • Monitor campaign performance and prepare regular reports on key performance indicators, including inquiry generation, conversion rates, engagement metrics, and enrollment outcomes.

  • Assist with lead-generation initiatives, list acquisitions, and partnerships with college search and planning organizations.

  • Coordinate content development with Marketing and Communications, including landing pages, emails, digital advertisements, video, print collateral, and other recruitment materials.

  • Manage project timelines, workflows, vendor relationships, and deliverables to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.

  • Support enrollment marketing budget tracking and return-on-investment analysis.

  • Train and support staff and campus partners on enrollment marketing tools, communications, processes, and best practices.

  • Develop and maintain documentation of enrollment marketing processes, workflows, and standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of Enrollment Management and university objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Minimum of two years of relevant professional marketing experience.

  • Experience developing or executing multi-channel marketing or communications campaigns.

  • Experience working with digital communications, email marketing, web content, or related marketing platforms.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.

  • Ability to analyze campaign data and translate results into actionable recommendations.

  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Competencies

  • Experience working in higher education, enrollment management, admissions, student recruitment, or a related environment.

  • Experience using a CRM platform, preferably Slate.

  • Knowledge of enrollment marketing strategies and prospective student communication journeys.

  • Familiarity with email marketing, SMS communications, digital advertising, social media, and web-based recruitment strategies.

  • Experience with marketing analytics, performance reporting, conversion tracking, and ROI analysis.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate projects involving multiple departments and external partners.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to maintaining brand consistency and accessibility standards.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and effectively train or support campus partners.

  • Ability to use data to identify opportunities, evaluate effectiveness, and continuously improve enrollment marketing initiatives.

Supervision & Budget Authority

May supervise coordinators, student employees, interns, or external contractors and provide project leadership for enrollment marketing initiatives.

Supports budget tracking, vendor management, and ROI analysis for enrollment marketing activities. Budget authority, if applicable, is exercised in accordance with university policies and departmental approval processes.

Physical Qualifications

The position primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of a computer and other standard office equipment. The employee must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, students, prospective students, vendors, and other stakeholders and perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
