Dynamic Manufacturing, Inc. is searching for an Associate Engineer to join our growing team.  The Associate Engineer is responsible for managing, designing, implementing, and maintaining motion control applications, industrial manufacturing equipment, and multi-panel testers. You must demonstrate advanced knowledge of creating drawings, motion control, motor control, hydraulic and pneumatic control, Vision Systems, Safety relays and components, servos, DC motors, three phase motors, VFDs, PLCs and HMIs selection and programming.

Essential Functions: 

  • Assist in managing projects
  • Interface and collaborate with Product Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers, Applications Engineers, Mechatronics Engineers, Mechanical Design Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, and Calibration Technicians
  • Assist in the design, implement, and maintain:
    • Electrical Control systems
    • Control for hydraulic and pneumatic systems
    • Multi-panel testers
    • Electrical and mechanical solutions
  • Read, edit, and generate electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Read, edit, and generate mechanical drawings
  • Read, edit, and generate hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical design issues
  • Create and execute Preventative and/or Predictive maintenance documents
  • Evaluate status of equipment to determine necessary repairs, redesigns or rebuilds


Qualifications: 

  • Education: Associates degree or equivalent experience
  • Practical experience and demonstrated knowledge of:
    • Assisting in the design of and implementing industrial machines
    • Drawing and editing electrical schematics using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and Visio
    • Creating and editing mechanical drawings using Inventor
    • Creating pneumatic and hydraulic drawings
    • Hydraulic and pneumatic principles, as well as parts selection and operations
    • DC and three phase Motor selection and control for the application
    • VFD selection, wiring, control, and programming for the application
    • Control via relay circuit and selection of safety relays and circuits for the application
    • Motion control
    • Best practices for wiring, shielding, grounding, and signal noise cancelation
    • Cognex Vision Systems and Industrial Barcode Scanners
    • Automation Direct, Keyence, and Banner Engineering product lines
    • PLC (Automation Direct family brands, Allen Bradly, Omron…) and HMI Hardware
    • PLC and HMI programming (Ladder Logic or other)
    • Knowledge and understating of NI Hardware
    • Maintenance of Electrical, Mechanical, and Industrial equipment
    • Electrical Panel layout and implementation
    • Analog sensors such as pressure and torque transducers
    • Digital sensors such as proximity sensors, their types and operation
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to understand regular operation of equipment with minimal documentation
  • Strong communication skills, Lean and continuous improvement mindset
  • Organized, skilled in technical writing and thorough in documenting work
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
