Job Description

The Associate Manager, Insights for the Outdoors and Security business units will play a key role in bringing the voice of the consumer into the core businesses. This role focuses on consumer insights and customer experience research that directly influences brand, product, and go-to-market strategies.

 

You’ll partner with cross-functional teams, contribute to research, design and analysis, and help translate insights into recommendations that drive growth for our most established businesses. RESPONSIBLIITIES:

What you will be doing

  • Support the design, execution, and analysis of consumer and customer research projects (qualitative and quantitative).
  • Partner with the Senior Manager, Consumer Insights, to ensure the consumer voice informs brand and CX strategies.
  • Manage day-to-day aspects of projects with external research partners and vendors.
  • Leverage DIY tools (e.g., Qualtrics, Suzy, Zappi) for quick-turn, agile insights.
  • Synthesize data from multiple sources into clear, actionable insights and business recommendations.
  • Craft clear, engaging stories from research findings that connect with cross-functional partners and influence decisions.
  • Champion consumer centricity with cross-functional partners through compelling storytelling and fact-based recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Psychology, Sociology, Economics, or related field; Master’s a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience in consumer insights, market research, customer experience, or related field (corporate or agency).
  • Hands-on knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Experience using DIY insights platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, Suzy, Zappi) preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize data into clear stories and actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with an eye for building visually compelling presentations.
  • Collaborative mindset, curiosity, and a passion for understanding consumers.

Additional Information

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $80,000 USD - $115,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
