What You'll Do:
The Associate Principal Desktop Engineering role drives strategic improvements to the end-user computing experience through innovative automation and technical implementation. This position owns the development and continuous enhancement of the desktop environment, ensuring optimal performance and user satisfaction. The role provides expert-level support for current and emerging end-user computing architectures while engineering scalable solutions that align with organizational objectives. Key responsibilities include implementing robust solutions for present and future service requirements, strengthening the organization's security posture, and establishing best practices for desktop engineering standards across the enterprise.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.
Build and package application deployments for end-user environments using Omnissa AppVolumes
Configure and maintain end-user profile management solutions with Omnissa UEM/DEM
Troubleshoot complex application installation, performance, and runtime issues across desktop
Maintain and optimize operating system base images, including feature updates, security patches, and vulnerability remediation
Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for desktop provisioning, patching, and system management
Develop, enhance, debug, and implement desktop software solutions
Resolve escalated production issues related to desktop and mobile software applications
Address complex problems involving systems integration, compatibility, and multi-platform environments
Drive innovation in end-user experience through evaluation and recommendation of emerging technologies
Challenge existing processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements
Provide tactical and strategic input on overall end-user computing experience
Identify and remove technical barriers that impact end-user productivity and business enablement
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (security, networking, applications, infrastructure) on integrated solutions
Participate in technical review sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives
Contribute subject matter expertise to IT planning discussions
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, policies, procedures, and architecture diagrams
Document best practices and technical standards for desktop engineering processes
Document configuration management and deployment procedures
Contribute to multiple projects of varying complexity and timelines as a senior technical resource
Provide on-call support according to assigned rotation schedule
Ensure desktop systems meet security, compliance, and performance requirements
Participate in change management and incident response processes
Perform other duties as assigned

Technical Skills & Background
[Required] 5+ years of experience supporting Windows desktop operating system environments
[Required] 5 years of experience deploying applications across enterprise desktops using modern tools
[Required] 3+ years of experience with a scripting language – PowerShell preferable, Python a plus
[Required] 3+ years of experience packaging software for deployments
[Required] 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Windows profile management
[Required] 1+ years of FSLogix
[Required] 1+ years of experience with Omnissa UEM\DEM
[Required] Experience with delivering VDI environment leveraging Omnissa Horizon and instant clone desktops
[Required] Desktop Application Troubleshooting
[Required] Experience operating in a DevOps culture
[Required] Passion to identify, investigate, and drive new technology within the organization
Azure AVD, AWS Workspaces, Intune, JAMF knowledge are all a plus
Certifications
Microsoft Certifications a plus
Education & Training
[Required] Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related degree or equivalent experience
[Required] 5 years of experience in desktop engineering or end user experience role

Compensation
- The salary range listed for any given position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at OCC, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, experience and/or education.

- All employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, company and individual performance and are not guaranteed.
Salary Range
$122,300.00 - $164,400.00Incentive Range
8% to 15%This position is eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award, for which the target range is listed above (see Incentive Range). The amount of such award, if any, will be based on various factors, including without limitation, both individual and company performance.
