What You'll Do:
This role is responsible for the development and execution of OCC’s external communications strategy, collaborating across the business to develop and execute communications that align with corporate goals and advance business outcomes. Working under the direction of the Managing Director, Corporate Communications, and in conjunction with various internal leaders, this role must effectively own, develop and implement earned media and PR strategies and tools to enhance effectiveness of communications across a variety of channels including earned and social media and the OCC website. The ideal candidate is an experienced communications professional with advanced executional and writing skills and able to deliver tailored messaging by audience and channel. This leader is proactive problem solver, makes data and insight-informed decisions, is committed to delivering high quality content and is known for building strong relationships with internal and external partners. S/he is creative, analytical with a bias for action, and is comfortable providing counsel to leaders at all levels in an organization. S/he thrives in a fast-paced, deadline- and change-driven environment and has a natural curiosity.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.
Partner with the Managing Director, Corporate Communications, to develop and execute external communications strategies through appropriate mix of channels and tactics
Collaborate with teams, leaders and individuals to refine and execute overall strategy by developing high-quality deliverables such as press releases, blogs, thought leadership content, award entries and other written/visual communications
Manage direction and content of OCC’s corporate social media; provide input and guidance across the organization on social media best practices
Serve as primary contact between OCC and the media, working with leaders and subject matter experts to develop public statements or prepare individuals for interviews; field media inquiries and manage relationships with members of the press
Partner with HR/Talent Acquisition to create and execute initiatives through internal and external communications channels that enhance employee engagement, retention and recruiting
Coordinate with Director, Events and Stakeholder Management corporate sponsorships with industry organizations by staying up to date on relevant industry events, securing speaking opportunities, developing executive messaging and directing creation of visual assets
Assist with internal communications on business developments such as emails, newsletters, Q&As, PPTs, scripts, intranet content, videos and other materials
Collaborate with Creative Executive Director to develop visual and interactive media for relevant audiences such as infographics, printed materials, ads, videos, websites, training collateral and other materials
Develop strong working relationships with business units to craft meaningful, understandable communications based diverse stakeholder needs
Develop, track and analyze metrics and insights on external communications (share of voice, engagement, sentiment, etc.) to refine and implement improvements for the overall strategy
Support logistics and planning of OCCs engagement in external events and conferences; support content development, executive messaging and preparation as well as multi-media production
Stay current on industry and company specific news and events affecting the organization, and incorporate into strategy and tactics accordingly
Provide support to and with external PR partners and collaborate on business continuity and crisis management planning and execution.
Assist with other communications-related work as needed
Technical Skills & Background

[Required] Demonstrated experience working on communications initiatives from conception to execution to evaluation
[Required] Extensive writing/editing, content production and planning experience across all dimensions of external communications for a broad variety of channels
[Required] Strong written/oral communication with writing/editing skills aligned to AP Style; skills using different styles to best reflect stakeholder, audience and message; ability to explain complex or technical concepts in an easily understandable format
[Required] Strong judgment and creative problem-solving skills that address strategic planning and tactical execution with the ability to make decisions in a changing environment while anticipating future needs
[Required] Highly collaborative with colleagues; serve as a champion for internal and external stakeholders/customers through creative ideation and storytelling, developing and implementing communications solutions to meet business objectives
[Required] Strong project management skills with an ability to manage and execute multiple programs and tasks with accuracy and efficiency under tight deadlines
[Required] Excellent interpersonal and persuasive skills; ability to develop and maintain relationships both internally and externally
[Required] Deep understanding of communication and engagement trends as well as emerging best practices; ability to provide professional input on complex projects, enhancing knowledge and skill base of organization
Education & Training
[Required] Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or English, OR in a related discipline OR an equivalent combination of education and private/public sector experience
[Required] 10+ years of experience in a communications or public relations role in the public or private sector, or with an agency
[Preferred] Fintech or financial services industry experience preferred

Compensation
- The salary range listed for any given position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at OCC, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, experience and/or education.
- In addition, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.

- All employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, company and individual performance and are not guaranteed.
Salary Range
$154,500.00 - $226,300.00Incentive Range
18% to 25%This position is eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award, for which the target range is listed above (see Incentive Range). The amount of such award, if any, will be based on various factors, including without limitation, both individual and company performance.
