The Product Specialist II for the Drinking Water business unit supports the execution and management of Zurn Elkay’s drinking water product portfolio strategy for assigned product categories- including bottle fillers, drinking fountains, coolers, smart water technologies, and related solutions. This role works cross-functionally with marketing, engineering, sales, operations, and customer experience teams to ensure products meet customer needs, deliver differentiated value, and achieve financial and strategic objectives.

The ideal candidate is analytically driven, detail-oriented, and passionate about solving customer problems through innovative water solutions.

Reports to: Product Manager

Key Focus Areas

Product Development & Lifecycle Management

  • Assist and/or lead new product development projects within a cross-functional environment, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to customer requirements.
  • Author and maintain product requirements, feature definitions, and user experience specifications.
  • Support business case development and positioning strategies.
  • Assist with SKU rationalization, cost-reduction initiatives, and end-of-life planning.
  • Maintain accurate product data, documentation, and timelines across internal systems.

Market & Competitive Analysis

  • Conduct market research and voice-of-customer activities to identify trends, user needs, and market opportunities.
  • Deliver comprehensive competitive assessments, including SWOT analysis, pricing performance and other benchmarking to inform product strategy.
  • Monitor product performance, customer feedback, and market shifts to recommend enhancements or new product concepts.

Commercialization & Go-to-Market

  • Support go-to-market deliverables, including pricing, packaging, and collateral development with coordination and Marketing and Sales Enablement teams.
  • Develop and deliver training materials for internal stakeholders, sales representatives, and customers to strengthen technical product knowledge and confidence.

General Product Management

  • Monitor product performance metrics—including revenue, margin, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Skills & Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in product management, marketing, engineering, or a related commercial/technical role (internships included).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to push cross-functional partners to innovate.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data-analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with product development processes (Agile, Stage-Gate, or similar).
  • Experience working with customer research, pricing analysis, or product lifecycle management tools.
Total Rewards & Benefits

The compensation range identified below are a good faith estimate of the salary expected to be paid as performed from these locations. Actual salaries may vary based on compensable factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, education and training, and other relevant business and organizational factors. Most candidates will start in the lower half of the range.

The Salary Range: $78,000 - 102,000
