About this role

Business Description

BlackRock's US Wealth Advisory ("USWA") business manages the firm's relationships with US retail investors and financial advisors. Representing a full suite of strategies — from Model Portfolios, iShares ETFs, and Mutual Funds to Alternatives, SMAs, and sub-advisory relationships — USWA's mandate is to deliver One BlackRock to third-party intermediaries including RIAs, Wirehouses, and Independent Broker-Dealers.

Role Description

We are actively seeking client-facing sales professionals across multiple different roles with a proven track record of managing an assigned territory to help identify, develop, and own client relationships. In this role, you will be responsible for representing BlackRock's investment solutions and delivering the full capability of the firm to financial advisors and key partners. Depending on team alignment, your focus may span BlackRock's broad product suite — including Model Portfolios, Retirement Solutions (LifePath, CITs, Co-Manufactured Products), ETFs, Mutual Funds, SMAs, and Alternatives.

The scope of the role includes three core elements:

Drive Commercial Results — Partner with senior sales leaders and Centers of Influence to deepen relationships with the largest and fastest-growing financial advisors and firms across your assigned territory.

Cultivate New Relationships — Identify and develop the next generation of top advisor relationships through client profiling, lead identification, and proactive outreach.

Deliver Expertise — Provide fiduciary and investment insights through portfolio construction conversations, thought leadership, and both in-person and digital client engagements.

Who Typically Applies for these types of roles?

  • Experienced sales professionals with a track record of client engagement, relationship building, and business development
  • Goal-oriented and commercially driven candidates focused on reaching and exceeding sales goals
  • Candidates with excellent interpersonal skills, strong analytical abilities, and an appreciation for data-driven sales strategies
  • Individuals with a strong passion for the asset management industry and capital markets

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build deep, consultative relationships across all aspects of an advisor's business — helping them navigate markets, portfolios, and business challenges
  • Proactively position and differentiate BlackRock's investment products and solutions against competitors
  • Embrace technology, data-driven segmentation, and the BlackRock selling system to execute high-impact client engagements (virtual and in-person)
  • Uncover client needs and deploy the appropriate products, solutions, and resources across BlackRock's full platform
  • Demonstrate mastery of BlackRock's products, solutions, thought leadership, and digital capabilities
  • Build an efficient and thoughtful territory strategy to maximize engagement and influence
  • Partner and collaborate with colleagues across the organization — including portfolio solutions, product strategists, and record keeper partners — to deliver the entirety of BlackRock to clients
  • Utilize CRM daily and embrace the firm's commitment to an exceptional client experience

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • CFP, CIMA, CAIA, or CFA preferred
  • 2–3+ years of experience in asset management sales, mutual fund/brokerage industry, or related client-facing sales role
  • Strong financial services background with knowledge of investment trends and advisor practices
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to engage key partners and present sales materials
  • Strong territory management, organizational, and sales skills — including profiling, resource deployment, and the ability to multitask under tight time constraints
  • Mastery of virtual engagement technology and web-based tools
  • FINRA Licenses: SIE, Series 7 & 66 (or 63 & 65 in lieu) — required or to be obtained within the licensing timeframe after hire
  • Clean U-4
  • Desire to build a long-term career in client-facing sales with upward mobility
  • Part-time travel within assigned territory may be required
