This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing tax team! The US Tax Group is responsible for managing its US entities in compliance with the Internal Revenue Code (IRC), while maintaining a strategic focus on the Firm's domestic and global tax implications. The US Tax group oversees a wide array of activities, including compliance, inquiries, tax audits, tax projects, and tax strategies. Additionally, the US Tax group collaborates closely with cross-functional teams and with its US and Global colleagues. This role reports directly into the Director, Head of US Tax, and will be responsible for, and not limited to, the responsibilities outlined below.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Head of US Tax to develop and implement tax strategies aligned with organization's broader financial and operational goals
- Work hand-in-hand with members of the team to prepare and conduct thorough reviews of tax filings, including corporate income tax returns, informational tax reporting, excise tax returns and other filings and compliance requirements
- Liaise with external advisors, auditors, and regulatory agencies as needed and liaise regularly with internal cross functional teams and global colleagues
- Review monthly income tax provisions, in accordance with head office (IFRS), local (US GAAP), and management reporting requirements and timelines
- Manage tax withholding and reporting process for 1099 and 1042 informational reporting
- Manage transfer pricing analysis, study, and intercompany agreements
- Participate in projects by researching, modeling, analyzing, and communicating the tax implications resulting from new businesses, corporate restructures, changes in tax laws, and/or changes and improvements in reporting requirements
- Buildout tax models for various planning initiatives or tax law changes
- Compose responses to audit inquiries issued by the IRS, state, and local taxing authorities
- Document the statement of procedures, policies, and controls for the tax function
- Facilitate automation projects for tax processes and improvements
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a financial services tax position in public accounting or with a global financial institution's tax department
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or related discipline; CPA preferred; MST or MBA a plus
- Precision in reviewing financial data and tax filings to ensure accuracy, with the ability to maintain big-picture perspective
- Ability to identify, analyze and resolve complex tax issues by thinking critically and creatively
- Proven track record of solving tax-related challenges and driving outcomes aligned with broader business goals and in accordance with the law
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Broad knowledge of tax law; ability to independently research and interpret the tax code and regulations
- Exceptional work, collaborative mindset, attention to detail, and positive attitude
