Our client is a globally backed packaging manufacturer focused on flexible solutions for the food industry. The team is customer centered and operationally strong, using advanced materials, precise converting, and practical analytics to improve product protection and shelf performance.
The Materials and Process Innovation Center explores and pilots new technologies, from high barrier films and sustainable laminations to thermoformed tray solutions. The group moves ideas from research to scalable, food safe production for customers across North America.
Position Overview:
As the Sales Manager, you will lead market expansion and strategic account growth for flexible and food packaging across the United States and North America. You will shape the go to market plan, build partnerships with processors, converters, and equipment makers, and manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to close. Reporting to senior leadership, you will guide forecasting and pricing, prepare proposals and contracts, represent the company at industry events, and work closely with production and technical teams to align customer requirements with high performing film and tray solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to expand market share in the U.S. and North America
- Identify, qualify, and win new customers in meat, cheese, and broader food packaging segments
- Promote and sell printed/non-printed barrier and non-barrier films and thermoformed plastic trays
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to inform territory and account plans
- Represent the brand at trade shows, onsite customer meetings, and industry events
- Collaborate with production and technical teams to align solutions to customer requirements
- Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and contracts; manage pipeline to target
Qualifications
- 5+ years of B2B sales experience; background in plastic or food packaging strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of food films, thermoformed trays, and (bonus) packaging machinery
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Consistent track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets
- Self-motivated, organized, and effective working independently
- Willingness to travel as needed
