Role Overview:

Could you be our next Benefits & Retirement Analyst? Globe Life is looking for a Benefits & Retirement Analyst to join the team!

This role is responsible for playing a key role in delivering a seamless, employee-centered experience across the organization’s benefits, retirement, wellness, and time away from work programs. This position supports both day-to-day administration and long-term strategic initiatives, ensuring programs are compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational goals. The analyst also manages weekly and monthly vendor billing for health and welfare plans, maintaining accuracy, transparency, and strong vendor relationships.

This is a hybrid position located in McKinney, Texas (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday-Thursday).

What You Will Do:

  • Administer medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and supplemental benefit programs.
  • Support the strategic approach to benefits by identifying trends, employee needs, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage new hire enrollments, qualifying life events, and open enrollment activities.
  • Maintain accurate benefits data within HRIS systems.
  • Serve as a Tier 3 resource for employee questions, providing clear and timely guidance.
  • Coordinate with vendors to resolve issues and enhance service delivery.
  • Support administration of Globe Life and American Income Life 401(k) and pension plans in compliance with ERISA and plan documents.
  • Periodically audit enrollments, contribution changes, loans, and pension-related transactions.
  • Assist with annual audits, nondiscrimination testing, and regulatory filings, including annual ADP/ACP non-discrimination testing.
  • Partner with plan advisors and recordkeepers to ensure accurate plan operations.
  • Provide employees with education and resources to support financial well-being.
  • Respond to requests from third-party providers and reconcile payroll contributions.
  • Assist in maintaining employee databases and data integrity with third-party systems.
  • Determine eligibility and contribution levels, complete and submit government forms, and prepare and distribute summary annual reports.
  • Support regular inquiries, investigations, and correspondence with retirees, active, and terminated participants in all retirement plans.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal and regulatory changes, trends, and other developments affecting retirement benefits.
  • Support the strategic design and implementation of wellness initiatives that promote physical, mental, and financial health.
  • Facilitate changes with the wellness vendor where applicable, including promotions and vendor integration files.
  • Track participation and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Develop communications that encourage engagement and reinforce a culture of well-being.
  • Administer time-away-from-work programs including FMLA, ADA, parental leave, short-term disability, long-term disability, and other leave policies.
  • Partner with HR, managers, and third-party administrators to ensure consistent, compliant, and empathetic leave management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely processing of leave requests.
  • Process weekly and monthly vendor invoices for health and welfare plans, ensuring accuracy and timely payment.
  • Reconcile billing discrepancies and collaborate with vendors and payroll to resolve issues.
  • Maintain detailed records to support audits, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Support the strategic evaluation of vendor performance and plan costs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and IRS guidelines.
  • Prepare required notices, summaries, and employee communications.
  • Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and recommend updates to policies and procedures.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with a focus on clarity, empathy, and problem-solving.
  • Create and maintain benefit guides, FAQs, and communication materials.
  • Facilitate benefits orientations and training sessions for employees and managers.
  • Partner with HR leadership to enhance the overall employee experience.

What You Can Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in benefits, retirement, or HR administration, including administering group health & welfare and retirement plans.
  • Experience with HRIS and benefits administration systems, including Workday and Fidelity, with a background working with multiple vendors or multi-state populations.
  • Strong understanding of benefits regulations and retirement plan compliance, including ERISA, IRS, DOL, and PBGC regulations, with a proven ability to interpret plan documents and resolve complex participant issues.
  • Advanced analytical skills, high attention to detail, and proficiency with retirement systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to educate employees, deliver exceptional customer service, and work effectively with cross-functional teams across HR, finance, and legal departments.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with demonstrated resourcefulness in problem-solving.
  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to multitask, maintain confidentiality, and work with highly sensitive information in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Certifications preferred but not required: Retirement Plans Associate (RPA), CEBS, CRSP, Certified Pension Consultant (CPC), or related certification.
