Job Description

AECOM Hunt is seeking a BIM/ VDC Intern – AECOM Hunt to be based in Chicago, IL working on our ORD 21 Program project.

This position is expected to begin in Summer 2027.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Hands on experience with Drones, 3D-Printing, 360 Photos, Laser Scanning
  • Learn to create 4D Animations using Synchro.
  • Create model content for business development pursuits to help win new work.
  • Create Visuals and Mine Project Data from multiple sources for Project Dashboards.
  • Shadow MEP Coordination Meetings on mega-projects across the country.
  • Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks. 
  • Follows instructions to accomplish tasks assigned by senior staff. 
  • Meets required schedules while producing quality work. 
  • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems and/or similar discipline and must have completed at least 1 year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions.  Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working for a large general contractor.
  • Previous relevant internship experience.
  • Exposure to other construction-based computer programs.
  • Bluebeam, Sketchup, Revit, Navisworks or BIM Coordination, Lumion or other rendering platforms as well as exposure to other construction-based computer programs.

  • This position may be offer relocation assistance.
  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
  • In order to receive a security badge at the client worksite for which you are being hired to perform services, you will be required to pass the client's security screening process to include SWAC (Secure Worker Access Consortium) and/or SIDA (Identification Display Area) and fingerprinting, which will be done after you have commenced employment and is a condition of your continued employment.
