We are seeking a highly analytical and articulate Business Analyst with strong domain expertise in Capital Markets and Asset Management to serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams. The role requires deep exposure to Front Office functions, Portfolio Management processes, and investment lifecycle workflows to support delivery of scalable, high-impact solutions.

The ideal candidate will bring strong domain-driven thinking, combined with the ability to translate complex financial requirements into clear, actionable deliverables within a fast-paced Agile environment.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Requirements Discovery & Analysis: Lead requirement elicitation sessions with business stakeholders across Capital Markets and Asset Management functions, including Front Office and Portfolio Management teams. Translate business objectives into detailed functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria aligned with investment and trading workflows.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Act as a critical bridge between Front Office stakeholders (Portfolio Managers, Traders, Investment Analysts) and IT teams. Facilitate workshops and discussions to ensure alignment on trading workflows, portfolio strategies, data requirements, and system enhancements.
  • Backlog Grooming & Prioritization: Partner with Product Owners to manage and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring requirements related to portfolio construction, order management, trade lifecycle, and asset servicing are well-defined, refined, and sprint-ready.
  • Functional Support for Delivery Teams: Provide ongoing functional guidance to development squads on Capital Markets workflows, including trade execution, portfolio rebalancing, compliance checks, and market data usage. Act as the go-to person for functional clarifications during sprints to ensure accurate implementation.
  • Process Mapping & Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive functional documentation, including process flows, trade lifecycle diagrams, portfolio data models, and system interaction maps, ensuring alignment with industry practices and regulatory standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Domain Expertise (Mandatory)

Strong hands-on experience in:

  • Capital Markets (Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives – preferred)
  • Asset Management & Investment Lifecycle
  • Front Office Operations (Trading, Order Management, Execution workflows)
  • Portfolio Management Systems & Processes
  • Understanding of trade lifecycle (order capture → execution → settlement) and portfolio analytics

Facilitation & Communication: Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage with Portfolio Managers, Traders, Risk & Compliance teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills with a structured approach to problem-solving.

Tools & Technologies

  • Proficiency in Jira for backlog and sprint management
  • Experience with Confluence for documentation
  • Exposure to data analysis tools (Excel, SQL – preferred) for validating financial and portfolio data

Analytical Thinking: Ability to break down complex financial processes and translate them into structured functional requirements, especially across multi-asset and portfolio-driven systems.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with global Capital Markets / Asset Management clients or platforms

  • Familiarity with Order Management Systems (OMS), Portfolio Management Systems (PMS), or Trading Platforms
  • Understanding of market data providers (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters)
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks impacting trading and investment operations
  • Certifications such as CBAP, CFA (preferred), or CSPO

Compensation, Benefits and Duration

Minimum Compensation: USD 40,000
Maximum Compensation: USD 140,000
Compensation is based on actual experience and qualifications of the candidate. The above is a reasonable and a good faith estimate for the role.
