Business Development Representative – Software Sales

Location: Westlake, TX (hybrid) or Remote, USA for the right candidate

ECI Software Solutions is seeking a motivated, organized, and customer-focused Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our Inside Sales team. This is a hybrid role, combining inbound lead follow-up with outbound prospecting to drive pipeline growth.

In this role, you will engage with both warm and cold prospects, qualify opportunities, and partner closely with Account Executives to build a strong, consistent pipeline. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, the ability to prioritize effectively, and a disciplined approach to managing multiple leads and activities.

What You’ll Do

  • Respond to and qualify inbound leads in a timely and professional manner
  • Proactively prospect and generate new opportunities through outbound calling, email, and LinkedIn outreach
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand prospect needs, challenges, and fit
  • Deliver clear and compelling messaging that communicates value early in the conversation
  • Handle objections confidently and guide prospects toward next steps
  • Prioritize and manage a high volume of inbound and outbound activities effectively
  • Research target accounts and identify key decision-makers
  • Schedule qualified meetings for Account Executives and ensure smooth handoff
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date activity tracking in Salesforce (CRM)
  • Meet or exceed targets for response time, meetings set, and pipeline generated

What You Bring

  • Experience or strong interest in cold calling and outbound prospecting
  • Ability to balance inbound responsiveness with outbound pipeline generation
  • Strong discovery and qualification skills
  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written
  • Effective time management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
  • Confidence in handling objections and navigating conversations
  • Coachability and a willingness to learn and improve
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving targets

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in sales, business development, or a customer-facing role
  • Experience in a quota-carrying or metrics-driven environment is a plus
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) preferred
  • Experience with sales engagement tools (e.g., Outreach, Salesloft) is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
