Business Development Representative

PlanHub is a pre-construction bidding marketplace helping general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers connect and grow their businesses. Built with tradesmen in mind, PlanHub is designed around the user workflow to help boost productivity, maintain deadlines, increase revenue, and create relationships for general contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors. Easily post projects or submit bids with anytime-anywhere collaboration for every commercial construction trade.

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Representative with experience in Construction tech, SaaS, or Construction. As a BDR, you'll be the first point of contact for General Contractors — building relationships, running product demonstrations, and executing warm transfers to our GC Growth Specialist (GCGS) team. You'll also work closely with our GC Sales Account Executives (AEs), helping qualify leads, set up advanced demonstrations, and transfer new sales opportunities. You'll seek new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential GCs, setting up both GCGS and GC Sales AEs for success.

What you'll be doing:

  • Proactively seek new business opportunities by connecting with General Contractors across the market.
  • Contact potential GCs through cold calls and emails, building genuine relationships from the first conversation.
  • Prospect and qualify leads to determine subcontractor fit before handing them off.
  • Identify client needs and suggest the right PlanHub products and services for their business.
  • Complete product demonstrations directly with GCs, showcasing how PlanHub streamlines their workflow.
  • Execute warm transfers to the GC Growth Specialist (GCGS) team, ensuring a smooth handoff and setting up GCGS reps for success.
  • Work with GC Sales Account Executives (AEs) to qualify leads, set up advanced demonstrations, and transfer new sales opportunities.
  • Drive new sales and help GCs get their first project posted on PlanHub.
  • Educate, answer questions, and send resources to potential GCs throughout the sales process.
  • Stay current on PlanHub's products, pricing, and payment plans to represent our preconstruction solutions accurately.
  • Track and report prospecting activity, pipeline, and forecasts through HubSpot.
  • Keep a pulse on the competitive landscape and how PlanHub stacks up.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with management, GCs, and internal teams alike.

What you will need to be successful:

  • SaaS solutions — Construction space preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls).
  • Experience with HubSpot, preferred.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to deliver engaging presentations.
  • Working knowledge of current tech stack: HubSpot, Google Suite, Zoom, and Claude, preferred.
  • BS degree in Business Administration or relevant field preferred.

What's in it for you:

Join a company that's just landed on the Inc. 5000 for the sixth year in a row — recognized among America's fastest-growing private companies. You can make an immediate impact as PlanHub moves to dominate the industry!

PlanHub offers:

  • An awesome culture where you will be empowered, make an impact, and learn a ton
  • Remote friendly
  • An excellent benefit package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Open time-off policy
  • 401(k) plan with a company match

This role offers a base salary of $55,000 - $60,000  per year, depending on experience. In addition, it includes monthly performance-based commissions earned by achieving sales targets. Commissions are calculated and paid out each month, with total on-target earnings (OTE) expected to be approximately $88,000 - $93,000 annually. This role also includes the benefits described above, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401(k) with company match, and an open time-off policy.

This is a remote position open to candidates located within the United States. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to sponsor visas or support employment outside the United States at this time.

PlanHub is an equal opportunity employer.
