Business Insights Analyst - Consumer Lending

The Home Equity, Credit Card & Unsecured Lending Strategy Team at Citizens Bank is responsible for advising senior leadership via analytic insights, directly influencing both the day-to-day and the long-term business strategy. As a member of this team, you will play a critical role in the continued evolution of core consumer banking products at Citizens. You will apply your strategic and analytical skills to proactively identify new insights and challenges, develop and test strategies that ultimately impact the bottom line. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of key partners across Sales, Operations, Product, Tech and Finance to drive strategic change, streamline the business and deliver sustainable performance. The ideal candidate must show clear ownership of strategic initiatives, executing projects and performing complex analyses, including independent root-cause analysis, in order to drive actionable business recommendations. 

Location and Work Arrangement
Candidates must be based in or willing to commute to a Citizens hub 4 days on-site and 1 day remote: Johnston, RI OR Boston, MA

  • Prepare analysis and reporting on key business metrics for management
  • Articulate outcomes of analysis and relevant insights
  • Develop presentations to communicate business performance and results to senior audiences 
  • Responsibilities will go beyond simply collecting data. Candidate will independently develop insights and drive actions from the analysis. Problem solving should be based on quantitative analytics, with an ability to analyze large and sophisticated datasets and perform root cause analysis.
  • Must show independence and autonomy. Will need to be able to balance a strong result focus with a high-quality bar and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 1+ years of experience with SQL, SAS, Python, Alteryx and/or Tableau
  • 2+ years of experience in business analysis 
  • 1+ years of experience in consulting 
  • Master’s degree in business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Math, Statistics, Science, Engineering 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)
  • Strong communication skills: Proven written and verbal communication credentials, with specific ability to convey data-backed analysis in an executive-level narrative 
  • Learning Agility: Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, dynamic environment 
  • At least 1 year of experience in analysis 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills

Hours & Work Schedule 

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: Mon – Fri



Pay Transparency

  • The salary range for this position is $65-000-99,000 per year plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
