The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible for the data ingestion, integration, and ETL processes that support MedEvolve's product and data solutions, along with the data warehousing of key subject areas. This role requires strong working knowledge of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) data and the ability to perform gap analysis for new business onboarding across various practice management systems.
The BI Developer will translate MedEvolve's data goals into well-designed technical processes, continuously optimize existing ETL pipelines, and proactively identify and resolve issues. This person will also regularly report on the health and performance of the data environment, partner with the Development team on database, file, and analytics projects, and monitor and troubleshoot production jobs.
- Design, build, and maintain ETL processes supporting MedEvolve's product and data solutions, including data warehousing of key subject areas.
- Perform gap analysis for new business onboarding across various practice management systems.
- Translate business goals and data requirements into scalable, well-architected technical processes.
- Continuously optimize existing ETL pipelines and proactively identify and resolve data issues.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and support production jobs to ensure reliability of the data environment.
- Report regularly on the health and performance of the data environment.
- Partner with the Development team on database, file, and analytics-related projects.
- Author and maintain technical documentation for ETL processes and data workflows.
- Support planned production deployments in accordance with change control policies.
Qualifications
- Technical experience with ETL processing using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Visual Studio, database design, and data warehousing.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), including creating and maintaining DTSX packages.
- Strong working knowledge of data warehouse implementation best practices, terminology, and loading mechanisms.
- Strong T-SQL background.
- Experience with revenue cycle (RCM) data and building analytics platforms around it, following business and technical best practices.
- Experience with auditing, data validation, and incremental ETL processes.
- Experience troubleshooting performance issues and applying coding best practices in SSIS, T-SQL, and ADF.
- Ability to write and maintain technical documentation for ETL processes.
- Experience with planned production deployments and adherence to change control policies.
- Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Ability to learn quickly, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines while supporting company and departmental goals.
- Highly organized, task-oriented, and able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- 5+ years of experience with ADF, SSIS, and ETL processes.
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and source code control systems.
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft SQL Server BI stack.
- Proficiency with SQL database objects, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
- Strong T-SQL skills, including knowledge of SQL Dynamic Management Views (DMVs) for performance tuning.
- Working knowledge of the Azure ecosystem.
- Basic proficiency in Python for scripting and light automation tasks.
- Knowledge of medical billing, analytics solutions, or electronic medical records (EMR).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
