JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
- Assists in the development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans; oversees testing, emergency response, and recovery.
- Supports business recovery, crisis management, emergency management, contingency planning and disaster-preparedness planning. Provides support and expertise during live events.
- Conducts, communicates, and maintains business continuity lifecycle.
- Monitors and reports on the compliance of business continuity processes, readiness, events and exercise results. Supports businesses in relationships with audit and government regulators on business continuity issues.
- Develops, enhances and disseminates information on continuity processes, standards and initiatives. Provides support for the development and delivery of training on business continuity.
- Consults with CNA`s business areas on their business continuity plan and provides guidance to ensure robust contingency planning.
- Provides high-level analysis on testing activities and project initiatives within the business continuity program (Example - contingency tests, "table top" exercises and scenario planning) to enhance enterprise management reporting; ensures follow-up on resulting action items.
- Supports maintenance of business continuity information including business area recovery plans, emergency response procedures, business continuity scenarios, and contact information in CNA's enterprise planning repository.
- Briefs and advises assigned business and IT teams on current business continuity initiatives and projects.
- Provide support for business and IT teams in the event of a significant business disruption including the ability to summarize and transform complex issues and data into meaningful information and visualizations to inform response efforts and essential decision makers.
- Stay apprised of industry best practices and share information with colleagues and management.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- In-depth working knowledge of the organization and a clear understanding of the company's key functional processes and resources
- Senior level knowledge and understanding of current business continuity planning techniques and technologies, risk analysis and business impact analysis methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of systems and services supporting data processing, and data and voice telecommunications
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with ability to effectively plan and direct multiple projects and project teams
- Solid interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external business partners
- Ability to exercise professional judgement and assume responsibility for decisions which have an impact on people, costs, and the delivery of services
- Ability to remain professional and unemotional in potentially difficult emergency situations
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and other business related software systems.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Typically a minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience with business continuity, disaster recovery, or risk management.
