Position Overview:
The Business Operations Consultant must have strong operational, organizational, and communications skills and a capacity to work with staff of varying levels of operational background and levels of staff and management, including C-Level executives. This position will work directly with clients in various roles and functions pertaining to operational business support projects. This position requires the candidate’s ability to support a travel commitment of up to 20%.

Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and guidance to Broadband and Telecommunication clients on business strategy, operations, and organizational development.
- Analyze existing business processes, identify areas for improvement, and recommend innovative solutions.
- Lead and manage cross-functional consulting projects from inception to completion.
- Develop and deliver presentations, reports, and workshops for clients and internal teams.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, market dynamics, and best practices to inform strategic decisions.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and business partners.
- Actively listen to and comprehend client needs, ensuring that proposed solutions are tailored and relevant to their unique challenges.
- Demonstrate the ability to grasp the overarching strategic vision while meticulously managing and executing the detailed steps required to achieve organizational objectives.
- Maintain a commitment to excellence by consistently striving for optimal results.
- Effectively balance and prioritize multiple concurrent projects, showcasing strong multi-tasking and organizational abilities in a dynamic consulting environment.
- Engage clients in thoughtful dialogue, utilizing well-crafted probing questions to uncover underlying needs and deliver candid, professional feedback that adds value to the client relationship.
- Exhibit versatility as a “Jack of all trades,” confidently drawing upon the expertise of colleagues and specialists within JSI when needed to ensure comprehensive and effective solutions for clients.
Required Qualifications
- At least three - five (3-5) years of experience with Network Operations, Business Operations, Billing Software Systems, and/or Marketing within the Telecommunications Industry.
- At least five (5) years of experience working either for an ISP/Telephone/Electric company or closely with many industry clients.
- Background in establishing organizational policies, processes, and/or procedures.
- Business process analysis skills.
- Ability to actively listen and immediately understand the client’s needs.
- Ability to turn client needs into actionable project initiatives.
- Prior experience working with all levels of staff at companies, including management and C-level executives.
- The innate ability to understand ‘the big picture’ while also recognizing and working through the detailed steps to get there.
- A mentality of never accepting ‘good enough.’
- A developed aptitude to multi-task across multiple concurrent projects.
- The ability to actively engage a client and provide well-executed probing questions to ascertain what is needed while providing the client professional feedback.
- Comfortable at presenting at speaking engagements and conferences.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Previous consulting experience is a plus.
