The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of eCommerce platforms, international business processes, and the ability to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements for development teams.Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis and Requirements Gathering
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Operations, Finance, Product Management) and the IT/Development teams, focusing specifically on eCommerce capabilities and cross-border operations.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of current business processes, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement within the existing eCommerce architecture (e.g., shopping cart, payment gateways, fulfillment, taxation).
- Elicit, document, and manage functional and non-functional requirements (FRDs, BRDs) for new features, system enhancements, and major international deployments.
- Develop user stories, process flows, wireframes, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with Product Owners and UX/UI designers.
- Maintain expert knowledge of our core eCommerce platform (e.g., Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopify Plus, Magento, custom platform) and its integration points with other enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, WMS).
- Analyze and optimize digital storefront performance, conversion funnels, and customer experience features related to global sites (e.g., multi-currency support, localization, region-specific promotions).
- Troubleshoot complex system issues related to the eCommerce stack, performing root cause analysis and recommending technical solutions.
- Identify and document system requirements necessary to support launching the eCommerce business in new international markets (e.g., payment methods specific to a region, complex tax and duty calculation logic, international shipping/logistics).
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure new system features adhere to international regulations (e.g., GDPR, local privacy laws, consumer protection acts).
- Analyze the localization requirements for each market, including language packs, cultural adaptations, and region-specific product catalogs.
- Develop comprehensive test plans and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions with business owners.
- Validate that technical solutions meet the original business objectives and quality standards, particularly in a multi-region, multi-site environment.
- Support the rollout and post-implementation phases of new projects and international site launches.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, preferably within a retail, consumer goods, or technology environment.
- 3+ years of direct experience working with major B2C or B2B eCommerce platforms and related systems.
- Demonstrable experience supporting or leading the systems implementation aspects of international business expansion or cross-border trade projects.
- Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) or Agile/Scrum (e.g., CSPO, CSM).
- Familiarity with global payment processing, fraud management tools, and international logistics providers.
- Experience with ERP, CRM, and/or PIM integrations in an eCommerce ecosystem.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau) to evaluate system performance and business impact.
