Location: Greater Chicago Area, IL
Work Arrangement: Full-Time
Salary: $175,000 – $200,000 per year

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Tax Senior Manager – M&A Partnership to lead complex business tax engagements with a focus on partnership taxation, mergers and acquisitions, and entity-level tax advisory.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in partnership tax, business entity taxation, and transaction advisory services, along with the ability to manage client relationships, mentor tax professionals, and collaborate with senior leadership.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Tax & M&A Advisory
  • Lead business tax engagements involving partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, and complex entity structures.

  • Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to business clients.

  • Support clients through transaction planning, structuring, and tax impact analysis.

  • Identify tax opportunities and risks related to business transactions.

Tax Compliance & Technical Review
  • Review complex business and entity tax returns, including:

    • Partnership returns

    • Corporate tax returns

    • Pass-through entity filings

    • Other business tax compliance matters

  • Research and resolve complex tax issues.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Leadership & Client Management
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business clients.

  • Manage client relationships and engagement expectations.

  • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level tax professionals.

  • Review work performed by team members and provide technical guidance.

  • Collaborate with Directors and Partners on complex engagements.

Process Improvement
  • Support improvements to tax engagement processes and workflows.

  • Contribute to internal initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and team development.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.

  • Active CPA license required.

  • 6+ years of public accounting tax experience.

  • Strong expertise in:

    • Partnership Taxation

    • Business Entity Taxation

    • M&A Tax

    • Tax Compliance and Advisory Services

  • Strong analytical, communication, and client management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of management experience preferred.

  • Experience leading complex M&A tax engagements.

  • Strong background working with privately held businesses and partnership structures.

  • Experience mentoring and developing tax professionals.

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Senior tax professional with strong partnership and transaction advisory experience.

  • Proven ability to manage complex engagements and advise business owners.

  • Strong technical tax knowledge combined with leadership and client service capabilities.

Compensation
  • Salary Range: $175,000 – $200,000 annually
