This position requires strong AutoCAD experience and the ability to produce accurate technical drawings, including PFDs, P&IDs, one-line diagrams, general layouts, plans, sections, details, and isometrics.
The successful candidate must communicate effectively with engineers, designers, contractors, and other project stakeholders while managing drawing revisions, documentation, and competing priorities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain computer-generated 2D engineering drawings.
- Produce PFDs, P&IDs, one-line diagrams, general layouts, plans, sections, details, isometrics, schedules, and data sheets.
- Prepare dimensional layout drawings and non-dimensional drawings.
- Review engineering drawings and designs for compliance with established specifications and standards.
- Revise drawings based on instructions and markups provided by engineers and other technical personnel.
- Coordinate with members of the design team across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Support interface management and communicate drawing-related issues between company and contractor engineering teams.
- Provide document-control support, database administration, and progress reporting.
- Keep the supervisor informed of engineering progress, deviations, and execution concerns.
- Support internal engineering initiatives and Global Practice activities as requested.
- Previous experience in CAD design or a closely related drafting position.
- Working knowledge of 2D CAD drafting and design.
- AutoCAD experience is required.
- Associate degree in Drafting from a two-year college or technical school, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience producing or revising engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
- Strong communication, coordination, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English, particularly for technical and business communications.
- Experience with MicroStation and/or SmartSketch.
- Oil and gas or industrial facility drafting experience.
- Experience developing PFDs, P&IDs, electrical one-lines, general arrangements, layouts, plans, sections, and details.
- Experience coordinating drawings across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Document-control, drawing-database administration, or project progress-reporting experience.
