Job Description:

Other duties as assigned. Resolves any scheduling conflicts or issues promptly and efficiently. Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records. Provides patients with information regarding their appointments and any necessary preparations. Demonstrates and promotes high standards for quality and productivity. Calls patients to complete appointment scheduling. Schedules patients for outpatient radiology, cardiology, and other hospital procedures. Collects and verifies demographic, insurance, and relevant clinical information. Verifies the accuracy of orders and scans them into the medical record.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Effective written and oral communication skills [Required]
• Ability to type 35 WPM with 95% accuracy [Required]
• Comprehensive end-user computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), Windows operating system, and Internet [Required]
• Analytical skills to foresee process roadblocks [Required]
• Detailed focus on accuracy and completeness of examination documentation requirements [Required]
• Ability to work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic, project-oriented environment [Required]
• Self-motivation, detail-oriented focus, and outstanding customer service skills [Required]
• Ability to read medical charts or dictation, understand services performed and correlate those services to charges on the bill [Required]
• Medical terminology, including knowledge of medical and imaging terminology, modality usage [Required]
• Ability to operate a multi-line phone system [Required]
• Understanding of Health Insurance authorization processes [Preferred]
• Knowledge of Billing and CPT/ICD10 Coding [Preferred]
• Knowledge of chemotherapy drug regimens [Preferred]
Education:
• Associate [Preferred]
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
Field of Study:
• in business administration, healthcare management, or associated field
Work Experience:
• 1+ administrative support in a healthcare setting [Required]
