Summary: 

This position is responsible for supporting the Claims Modernization Initiative for Marine Claims.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Receive and assess First Notice of Loss for Marine Claims.
  • Monitor and process escalated Marine Claims within Five Sigma.
  • Research policy and client information in Claims Underwriting systems.
  • Research, validate and forward claims mails to Third Parties Administrators.
  • Issue claim acknowledgement letters and other claims correspondences as needed.
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing for enhancements and continued product development as needed.
  • Create loss runs and production analysis reports.
  • Communicate with claim managers, underwriters and brokers as needed, for proper processing of claims.
  • Provide administrative support to the Claims Processing Department as needed for all other profit centers, including Marine.
  • Conducting peer training.
  • Quality review of completed work within Five Sigma and Claims Enterprise.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required, Associate's degree or related work experience.
  • 2+ years’ work experience in Commercial Insurance Industry Claims Support role.
  • Basic knowledge of the insurance industry, including processing Marine Claims.
  • Proven track record of strong organizational skills, problem solving, communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient data entry skills.
  • Ability to produce high work volume with precise accuracy.
  • Strong computer skills including the use of Microsoft Products.
