About the Job
The Client Marketing Manager owns Smokeball’s client lifecycle marketing strategy to help engage, retain, and increase the lifetime value of clients. They are a key liaison to Client Success and will also collaborate closely with Product Marketing on GTM campaigns, delivering new features, and product value to customers. This role serves as both a client and brand advocate, ensuring a client-focused approach that embodies Smokeball’s mission to power people-law.

This is a hybrid position based in our Chicago, IL office. All Chicagoland employees are required to be in the office on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Key Responsibilities

  • Own the creation and execution of client lifecycle campaigns in collaboration with Client Success and Product Marketing to drive product adoption, usage, and retention.
  • Own the client communications calendar, auditing cross-department client comms and holding the business accountable for total message volume. 
  • Create high-impact case studies, video testimonials, and other storytelling that highlights the Smokeball client experience.  
  • Drive client-led growth by owning Smokeball's referral program and running review generation campaigns. 
  • Manage client webinars that highlight key product features and raise awareness for partner integrations. 
  • Serve as a client champion by facilitating client feedback loops; identifying surprise and delight opportunities; and building out client advocacy initiatives, like Smokeball’s Beacon Award.


Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years B2B and/or SaaS marketing experience with direct experience in hands-on customer marketing.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for compelling storytelling.  
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.  
  • Experience using marketing automation and project management tools to build and run high-impact campaigns.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally to achieve business goals and KPIs.  
  • Ability to track, measure, and optimize efforts based on data and performance insights.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of ChurnZero, ClickUp, and Pardot 
  • Experience building out HTML email templates
  • Familiarity with the legal profession 

Compensation Band:

$100,000 - $120,000
