GENERAL FUNCTION:  The Commercial Credit Analyst is responsible for the underwriting and evaluation of commercial real estate and commercial & industrial loan requests.  This individual will collaborate with the Commercial Lender or Team Leader on due diligence of credit requests, specifically for middle market clients. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  1. Responsible for the preparation of quality, detailed financial analysis including cash flow models and collateral evaluations in order to identify potential credit risks.

  2. Capable of evaluating complex financial statements to spread and analyze in order to prepare a credit review.

  3. Make recommendations in accordance with sound banking practices in order to minimize risk exposure.

  4. Ensure commercial loan requests adhere to bank policies and procedures.

  5. Effectively communicate and partner with the Commercial Lender or Team Leader to assist with monitoring of the loan portfolio.

  6. May participate in on-site client meetings with the Commercial Lender or Team Leader.

  7. Assist with outgoing communication of the credit/ loan review function.

  8. Review and monitor working capital draws.

  9. Maintain month-end Board of Director reports.

  10. Completion of special projects as required by senior management and other additional responsibilities as requested.

EXPECTATIONS:


  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, and credit analysis concepts.

  • Capacity to work within a fast paced and proactive environment while adding value to our clients.

  • Knowledge of commercial business, construction, and commercial real estate lending.

  • Capable of taking ownership of personal development/ performance and ability to work independently.

  • Prepare loan presentations accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Have read, understand and know the Bank’s Lending Policy.

  • Some contact with customers, conducting relationships in a professional manner that will enhance the overall marketing effort of the bank. 

 

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:


  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in Business, preferably Accounting or Finance

  • Qualitative analytical skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of MS Suite of Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Internet skills

  • Sageworks

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like.

  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient enough to operate office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, telephones, and other office equipment.

  • Extended viewing of CRT screen.

  • Moderate lifting up to 50 pounds.

  • Repetitive hand and arm movement.

  • May require excessive sitting, standing, bending and reaching.

  • Normal range of hearing and vision.

  • Must be able to drive/have transportation.
