About the Role

As Commercial Development Director for Nordics & Baltics, you will lead the commercial development agenda across seven markets: Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. You will engage local markets and the cluster management team, building trusted relationships that enable consistent and effective execution.


You will play a critical role in translating commercial strategy into successful local execution while ensuring that market insights and customer needs are effectively represented to global stakeholders.

This is a highly collaborative and execution-focused leadership role. You will work closely with the Global Commercial Development team to ensure strategic priorities are effectively implemented across the Cluster, while bringing valuable market perspectives and opportunities back to the global organization.


Leading a team and partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, and Global Commercial functions, you will drive sales effectiveness, capability development, commercial processes, CRM adoption, analytics, and tender excellence across the cluster.


What You Will Do

  • Commercial Execution: Translate global and cluster commercial priorities into clear roadmaps, processes and actions and support successful implementation across the Nordics & Baltics markets while reflecting relevant local needs.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with local market organizations, cluster leadership teams, and global functions to ensure alignment and execution excellence.
  • Sales Effectiveness: Challenge and support Sales teams to improve execution, customer focus and commercial productivity through structured ways of working and practical tools.
  • Performance Management: Drive commercial performance through KPI governance, sales efficiency initiatives, performance monitoring, and structured follow-up processes. 
  • Capability Development: Coordinate and planning the cluster-level commercial capability-building agenda, partnering and coaching the local training responsible.
  • Commercial Excellence: Lead the adoption of CRM, analytics, and commercial processes that enable data-driven decision-making and improved sales execution.
  • Tender & Contract Management: Provide leadership and governance for tender and contract excellence, supporting compliance, transparency, and business growth opportunities.
  • Team Leadership: Coach and develop a team of commercial specialists while creating alignment, structure, accountability, and collaboration across the organization.

Who You Are

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
  • Significant leadership experience within Commercial Excellence, Sales Leadership, Sales Operations, Business Development preferably within Medical Devices, Pharma, or a comparable commercial environment, including leading specialized teams.
  • As special interest in Sales training and development 
  • Experience in tender environments is strongly valued.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, KPI management, CRM systems, commercial analytics, tender management, and performance improvement methodologies.
  • Structured, execution-oriented, and collaborative leader with excellent stakeholder management skills, the confidence to constructively challenge, and the ability to influence both upwards and downwards in a matrix organization.
  • Fluent in English; experience working across multiple countries and cultures is highly valued.

This role supports Essity's Nordics & Baltics organization and requires close collaboration with teams across Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Regular travel within the cluster is expected to support stakeholder engagement, commercial execution, and team development.
