About the Role

The Commercial & Pricing Analyst turns sales, pricing, margin, customer, product, and market data into clear actions that improve profitable growth. The role partners closely with Sales, Finance, Marketing/Product Management, and business leadership to strengthen pricing discipline, commercial visibility, forecasting, and decision support across a multi-brand industrial portfolio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Pricing Strategy & Execution: Analyze price realization, discounting, rebates, surcharges, customer-specific pricing, and pocket margin; identify pricing leakage and recommend corrective actions.
  • Pricing Governance: Maintain pricing tools, price lists, approval workflows, exception tracking, and documentation; support consistent execution of pricing actions across customers, products, brands, and channels.
  • Commercial Analytics: Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reporting for revenue, gross margin, volume, price/mix, customer and product profitability, sales trends, and key commercial KPIs.
  • Business Intelligence: Translate data from ERP, CRM, Power BI, Excel, and other sources into concise insights for commercial leaders and sales teams; improve data quality and reporting consistency.
  • Forecasting & Planning: Support annual operating plans, forecasts, sales outlooks, pipeline reviews, and scenario analysis by providing customer-, product-, and channel-level analytics.
  • Customer & Product Profitability: Segment customers and products by growth, margin, strategic value, and cost-to-serve; highlight opportunities to improve mix and resource allocation.
  • Commercial Decision Support: Develop analyses for key accounts, cross-selling, new products, new markets, promotions, and contract opportunities; quantify the size of the prize and financial tradeoffs.
  • Performance Management: Help establish commercial scorecards, targets, and KPI definitions; monitor results versus plan and surface actionable variances.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Work with Finance, Sales, Marketing/Product Management, Operations, and leadership to connect commercial actions with financial outcomes.

Critical Competencies

  • Commercially minded: understands that analytics should drive action, not simply reporting.
  • Comfortable challenging assumptions and investigating outliers while maintaining strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Balances analytical rigor with speed and practicality.
  • Can move from detailed transactional data to an executive-level story and recommendation.
  • Takes ownership of recurring processes while continuously simplifying and automating them.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Analytics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in pricing, commercial finance, sales operations, FP&A, business analytics, or a similar analytical role; industrial or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, and scenario analysis.
  • Experience with Power BI or comparable business-intelligence tools; ability to build clear, decision-oriented dashboards.
  • Working knowledge of ERP and CRM data structures; experience integrating data from multiple sources is desirable.
  • Strong financial acumen, including revenue, gross margin, price/volume/mix, and profitability analysis.
  • Ability to communicate complex analysis in a concise, executive-ready way and convert findings into practical recommendations.
  • Strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Equal Employment Opportunity

We are an equal opportunity employer and consider all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law. We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities throughout the application and employment process.
